  • Sa Majesté la Reine du chef du Canada 2017. La compréhension de la variabilité spatiale de la teneur en azote minéral dans le sol (NMS) et du développement de la culture est une étape importante dans le processus de mise en œuvre de technologies de précision pour la gestion de l’azote (N) dans la production de canola. Nous avons étudié la variabilité spatiale de la teneur en NMS à l’intérieur d’un même champ par rapport à divers paramètres de développement de la culture et au rendement grainier dans le cadre d’une expérience triennale réalisée dans un champ commercial en Ontario. Chaque année, de larges bandes du champ ont reçu différents traitements de fertilisation azotée en présemis (0, 50, 100 et 150 kg ha-1), et chaque traitement a été répliqué trois fois. Nos données ont montré une variation substantielle de la teneur en NMS entre les bandes ayant reçu les différents traitements et aussi entre les bandes ayant reçu un même traitement, ce qui révèle une grande variabilité spatiale de la disponibilité de l’azote à l’échelle du champ et des bandes. Certains paramètres de développement cultural mesurés ont présenté de grandes variations en parallèle avec la dynamique de la teneur en NMS dans le sol. Au stade début floraison, les teneurs en NMS étaient fortement corrélées avec la hauteur des plantes et le nombre de tiges. Même si le rendement grainier a affiché une réponse positive à la fertilisation azotée, l’incohérence de l’augmentation du rendement par rapport à l’augmentation des doses d’azote est probablem
