Current Projects:
- Develop and apply genetic, biotechnology and quality evaluation tools to facilitate genetic enhancement of quality through rapid screening methods
- Develop and release improved (yield, quality, adaptability, and/or disease resistance) cultivars and breeding lines of soybeans
- Develop high yield red spring wheat with quality similar to US red winter for use in diverse end-use markets
- Develop technologies and enhanced ability to quantify quality attributes of soybeans and soy products and determine how various soybean traits affect the yield and quality of soy products
- Development of hulless oat cultivars for eastern Canada
- Development of milling quality oat cultivars for eastern Canada
- Development of near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) methods for efficient quality evaluation of oat lines.
