Areas of Expertise:

  • Isolation, characterization and genome analysis of bacteriophages and their interaction with their bacterial hosts
  • Development of novel bacteriophage-based techniques to detect and control various bacterial foodborne pathogens in order to enhance food safety
  • Development of bacteriophage-based bioactive materials

Current Projects:

  • Setting up a lab to develop the Bacteriophage Research Program at AAFC-Guelph Research and Development Centre
  • Establishing protocols and procedures for building an in-house bacteriophage collection against various important foodborne pathogens (Bacteriophage Bank)
