8C. Northern Eurasia and North Africa

The fauna of northern Eurasia has been displaced by glaciation, and replenished by a Mediterranean fauna which is enriched from sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, with some of the 145 species derived from faunas as far away as North America and Australia.
