From January 2011 to November 2020, there were 167 quercetin-containing products launched worldwide, including 96 new products in the Asia-Pacific region. The top three markets in the world for products containing quercetin as an ingredient were Japan, the United States (USA), and Germany.
This market for quercetin-containing products increased substantially from 2011 to 2013, with the highest amount of new product launches being in 2013 with 34 new product launches worldwide. Since then, at least 14 products were introduced each year.
From January 2016 to November 2020, the three main food or drink subcategories for products containing quercetin in the top five global markets were cakes, pastries and sweet goods, meal replacements and other drinks, and chilled desserts.
During this same period, Japan saw the most quercetin-containing new product launches, with most being introduced from within two main food subcategories such as cakes, pastries and sweet goods (33), and chilled desserts (7). The USA and Germany launched more drink products that contained quercetin from within both the energy drink and the meal replacement and other drinks subcategories.

Market sizes
Of the five countries with the most product launches containing quercetin from 2015-2019, Japan had the largest market for overall products. Germany had the fastest growing market in energy drinks (not necessarily containing quercetin).
