Germany is the third largest importer of agri-food and seafood products in the world. Germany recorded imports of Can$143.5 billion in 2019, and Canada's share was 0.3% or Can$481.6 million.

Germany is a net importer of agri-food and seafood products. In 2019, Germany's agri-food and seafood trade deficit was Can$27.3 billion. Germany's agri-food and seafood imports increased at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.0% from 2015 to 2019.

Top supplying countries to Germany were predominantly European Union (EU) countries The largest supplying non-EU countries were the United States (U.S.), Brazil, China, and the United Kingdom (UK). The top five imports to Germany from 2015 to 2019 were cheese, coffee, wine, baked goods, and rape or colza seeds.

In 2019, Canada had an agri-food and seafood trade surplus of Can$13.1 million with Germany. Germany's agri-food and seafood imports from Canada have increased by a CAGR of 5.1% from 2015 to 2019. Top imports from Canada were rape or colza seeds, fresh beef, and food preparations.

Germany is a net importer of agri-food and seafood products. In 2019, Germany's agri-food and seafood trade deficit was Can$27.3 billion with imports valued at Can$142.5 billion, and Can$115.3 billion in exports. Germany's agri-food and seafood imports increased at a CAGR of 4.0% from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, Canada had an agri-food and seafood trade surplus of Can$13.1 million with Germany.

Germany's top agri-food and seafood imports in 2019 were cheese, coffee, wine, baked goods, and rape seeds. Top supplying countries were predominantly EU countries, led by the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, and France. The largest supplying non-EU countries were the U.S., Brazil, China, and the UK. Imports from Canada have increased by a CAGR of 5.1% to rank 42nd overall and 25th out of non-EU suppliers in terms of market share.

In 2019, Canada ranked 8th for rape seeds, 17th for fresh beef, and 28th for food preparations import supply into Germany among global trade partners, supplying Germany with Can$119.0 million worth of these three commodities. Other Canadian agri-food and seafood products imports to Germany include baked goods, spirits and liqueurs, and wine. Baked goods, pet food, chocolate, and fresh beef were the fastest growing imports from Canada and have more than doubled between 2015 and 2019. In 2019, Canada's import supply gap to Germany was Can$142.1 billion, which grew by a CAGR of 4.0% between 2015 and 2019.
