Bibliographie générale

Il existe des milliers de sources d'information générale sur les plantes médicinales. En ce qui concerne les plantes médicinales du Canada, on peut trouver beaucoup d'information dans les ouvrages traitant des espèces qui poussent dans d'autres pays ou y sont utilisées, puisque ces espèces sont souvent les mêmes qu'au Canada.

La bibliographie suivante regroupe des sources d'information s'appliquant aux plantes médicinales du Canada, avec une attention particulière aux articles, brochures et livres, généralement en anglais, traitant des plantes utilisées à des fins médicinales en Amérique du Nord. Un seul éditeur et une seule ville de publication sont mentionnés pour les livres, mais certains ont été imprimés dans plusieurs villes, parfois par des éditeurs différents. Dans bien des cas, les brochures et les livres ont connu plusieurs éditions, et nous ne mentionnons généralement que la plus récente.

Conformément à l'usage des bibliothèques, nous donnons le nombre de pages pour les livres ne comptant qu'un tome, mais non pour ceux qui en comptent plusieurs. La meilleure source de données bibliographiques que nous ayons trouvée pour les livres de médecine est le catalogue Internet de la Librairie du Congrès (en anglais seulement). Le guide le plus complet sur les articles de recherche médicale est MEDLINE (en anglais seulement).
