  • Taxonomic, phylogenetic and phylogenomic research on chytrid fungi and oomycetes
  • Comparative genomics of crop pathogens with a focus on the potato wart pathogen (Synchytrium endobioticum)
  • Build, maintain, characterize at the DNA level the reference collections of fungi [AAFC National Mycological Herbarium (DAOM) and Canadian Collection of Fungal Cultures (CCFC)]
  • Development of rapid detection/identification tools and bioinformatics pipelines.
