Areas of Expertise:

  • Plant gene isolation, transformation, and expression; plant disease resistance and defence responses; plant molecular marker systems and genetic linkage mapping.

Current Projects:

  • Development of novel triticale genotypes for production of value-added starches
  • Characterization of triticale starch synthases and starch-branching enzymes
  • Manipulation of starch gene expression by RNA antisense or interference
  • Characterization of wheat resistance genes and defence response pathways.
