Research projects (Quebec Research and Development Centre)
The Quebec Research and Development Centre (Quebec RDC) supports innovation, research, development and technology transfer activities relevant to two of the nine Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Sector Science Strategies.
Forages and beef
Quebec RDC activities are in keeping with the strategic direction of reducing environmental impacts, boosting productivity and enhancing the Forages and Beef and Agricultural Ecosystem Productivity and Health sectors.
Soil expertise is a major component involving soil chemistry-biochemistry-fertility and includes specialists in soil management, soil-plant-air interaction, precision farming, agri-meteorology, water management and modelling.
Forage expertise is also diverse and includes forage genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, pathology, ecophysiology, management, microbiology and quality.
Agro-ecosystem productivity and health
Quebec RDC activities are in keeping with the strategic direction of reducing environmental impacts, boosting productivity, improving crop sustainability and enhancing the Agro-Ecosystem Productivity and Health sector.
Agri-environmental expertise is a major component involving soil, air and water quality; management and understanding of nutrient cycling; and use of livestock effluent and organic waste.
