The Glomeromycetes in vitro Collection - Inoculum preservation

The Glomeromycetes in vitro collection (GINCO) of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada preserves high quality starting inoculum of a diversity of AM fungal strains.

Gel plugs removed from a growing fungal colony can be transferred in small vials. For medium to long-term preservation of inoculum, vials can simply be maintained in a fridge at 4-5° Celsius. AM fungal spores maintain their germination potential for up to 12 months.
