Areas of Expertise:

  • Develop reduced-risk and biological-based management strategies for damping-off, root rots, and wilts of vegetable crops.
  • Exploit biological control of soilborne diseases of vegetable crops
  • Enhance disease control effect of organic amendments, bio-control agents, and reduced-risk chemicals.
  • Evaluate reduced-risk strategies for managing foliar diseases of tomato and pepper
  • Develop PCR-based detection system for pathogens and bio-control agents.

Current Projects:

  • Develop and evaluate microbial agents for biological control of plant pathogens
  • Development of integrated and sustainable management strategies for soilborne and foliar diseases of vegetable crops
