Industry-led Research and Development Stream — 1. Overview

1. Overview

Industry-led Research and Development Stream supports pre-commercialization research, development and knowledge transfer leading to innovative agriculture, agri-food and agri-based practices, processes and products.

If approved, you could receive either non-repayable contributions and/or help from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada research scientists and experts for knowledge transfer. Two types of projects will be supported:

  1. Agri-Science Cluster: industry-led projects that address several industry priority themes, includes several research activities nation-wide and includes a critical mass of scientific expertise from industry, academia and government. The project may be commodity based, or may address cross-cutting issues that are of interest to more than one commodity.

Please note that we are no longer accepting applications for Agri-Science Clusters.

  2. Agri-Science Project: a single project or a smaller set of projects that would be less comprehensive than an agri-science cluster. The scope may be national, regional or local.

For more details, please see the Industry-led Research and Development Stream Applicant Guide.

You can apply at any point during the life of the program, until available funds have been fully allocated. Once all funds have been allocated, we will post a notice on this website.

Please apply early to ensure you have enough time to complete your project. Projects must be completed by March 31, 2018.
