The United States (U.S.) and Mexico represent Canada's largest trading partners with over $65 billion in combined agri-food and seafood trade in 2015, an increase of 282% since the signature of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1993.

These markets represent nearly 449 million consumers and total agri-food and seafood imports of $217 billion, over $34 billion of which came from Canada in 2015. Canadian exports to the U.S. and Mexico are very vast in nature with nearly 80% of Canada's total processed food exports going to these markets.
