New for 2016 Continuous Filing for AgriStability
What is Continuous Filing?
Previously, participants with non-calendar fiscal year ends often experienced a significant gap between their fiscal year end and when they could apply for AgriStability. Continuous filing was introduced for AgriInvest in 2014 to address the gap and, beginning in 2016, has been extended to AgriStability in the provinces where Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada delivers the program. Now participants in Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and the Yukon can apply for both programs as soon as their fiscal year ends, giving them earlier access to AgriStability and AgriInvest benefits.
Who can apply for 2016 AgriStability?
Participants in Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and the Yukon, who have completed their 2016 fiscal year and are reporting farming income (or loss) for the 2016 tax year to the Canada Revenue Agency, can apply now for 2016 AgriStability.
How can producers apply for 2016 AgriStability?
Producers in Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and the Yukon, send in a 2016 AgriStability and AgriInvest Statement A for Corporations, Co-operatives and Special Individuals directly to the federal AgriStability administration.
The form is now available on the AgriStability web site or by calling us toll free at 1-866-367-8506.
